I’ve been posting to Instagram and Facebook and neglecting the blog for quite some time so I thought I’d try posting this to the site directly. It is supposed to cross-post to the Facebook so we will see how that goes.
Vali and I have been living with cracks in the walls of our bedroom for a while and a few months ago decided it was time to fix them and dress up the bedroom.
The biggest change was changing the normal door to the master bath to a sliding barn door. It opened up the tiny space and anything that does that is welcome.
I repurposed the old door by adding about four inches all the way around so it covered the opening, rather than just filling it. It still needs paint but it is going to be an accent color and we are still picking those.
The rest of the room got holes patches and caulked then a fresh coat of paint on the trim and walls. Painting the window openings white, the trim color, instead of the wall color made a big difference in the amount of light coming in. Another welcome change.
A few finishing touches to go. New window coverings, pillows, and a fake stack of wood to fill the now-sealed fireplace to make it a bit more decorative. I trimmed three or four inches off the mantle which was a small thing that made a big difference. It is t in the way anymore but still looks balanced.
And now the pictures. Enjoy!
Looks great!
